Christ Church aims to include everyone in the worship we offer to God. Sight and sound are very important in experiencing the world around us, but for visitors whose hearing and vision may be impaired, we also use incense at major festivals, to enable the sense of smell to be used too. More details.Families are welcome, and we have an area near the altar so that young children can find activities to keep themselves amused, or watch what goes on. During sung Masses there is a storytime and prayers in the vestry during the Sermon and Intercessions in the service: this allows young children to learn about the same things as the older congregation, but in an environment which is more suited to them. We also offer Shining Lights as a structured activity-based Sunday School for 4–14-year-olds; or children may wish to sit with their parents or friends within the congregation.
If you are visiting Christ Church from abroad and your first language isn’t English, please let us know before you arrive. While we can’t guarantee to do so, we will do our best to include parts of the Mass in the service leaflet in your language so you don't have to struggle with complicated readings and can join in parts of the service in words which come naturally to you.

Guide dogs and hearing dogs are admitted. We provide large-print copies of the weekly service sheet and the words of the hymns, and we are actively working on providing more large-print service books. Sight-impaired internet users can take advantage of Adobe’s PDF-to-HTML conversion utility to convert our publications to machine-readable form.
With the exception of the chancel, public areas of the church are accessible. Christ Church has no steps to negotiate, although wheelchair users will find it easier if they are assisted. We can move chairs to allow you to sit where you want, and are happy to bring communion to those who (for whatever reason) find it difficult to get to the altar.
