The Parish Church of Seaside, worshipping in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England
We aim to make everyone, of whatever age and whatever their personal circumstances, welcome at Christ Church in order to worship God.
Welcome to visitors
We seek to offer a warm welcome at our services, particularly to those holidaying on the “Sunshine Coast”.
Do take a look at details of weekday services and what’s on this week to see what fits in with your hotel schedule.
The church is open weekday mornings.

150th Anniversary: 26 July 2009Our celebrations of 150 years of service to the community start with a Solemn Mass at 10:30am on Sunday 26 July where the Bishop of Chichester will be principal celebrant. Bishop John’s predecessors consecrated the church and celebrated the 50th and 100th anniversaries, so it’s a great pleasure to welcome the diocesan bishop again for this year’s festivities. Mass is followed by an “1859-style” lunch: if you would like to join us for that, please email us to book a place. |
Family Lunch
Did you know about the monthly Family Lunch at Christ Church? Read it about it here.
A Fairtrade parish
Christ Church has pledged to support the principles of Fair Trade by using only Fairtrade-badged items wherever possible.
Finding out about Christ Church
Please look around the website. If you don’t find what you’re after, please contact a church officer or use our new general enquiry email address.
Christ Church merchandise
We’re collecting entries (entrées?) for a Christ Church Cook Book. If you can help, please email publicity@xpeastbourne.org with your recipe. You can now buy reasonably-priced, good-quality sweatshirts, polo shirts, mugs and other items printed with the Christ Church logo. We’ve just added an organic cotton tee-shirt, and a coloured one as well. Keep warm — or cool — and help Christ Church as well! Visit our Store. The store is run by CafePress.com in the United States, so the £–$ exchange rate means things are cheaper now than ever.
Daily Prayer available here
Join the Church in England and around the world by saying Morning or Evening Prayer! The services are quick to download and take about 20 minutes. If you don’t have time for that, why not try the short Night Prayer before going to bed? All the texts, in either Common Worship (modern) or Book of Common Prayer (traditional) language can be reached from our Services page.
