Programme
The programme is based on Favourite Hymns and will include preludes and postludes by Bach, Stanford, Brahms, Healy Willan, Karg-Elert and others.



Nicholas Castell was born and raised in Eastbourne. His career in Music started at the age of 6, when he joined the choir of S Mary’s Church, Old Town. He was educated at Eastbourne College where he was Organ Scholar. During his latter years at College Nick was offered the position of Organist and Choirmaster at S Philip’s Church, Eastbourne. After leaving College Nick spent his gap year as Organ and Choral Scholar of Portsmouth Cathedral and worked in Portsmouth Grammar School Music department.

Nick read Music at the University of Manchester and, since graduating in 2005, has completed a PGCE teaching course. While still at University Nick directed the Manchester Universities’ Choir and Orchestra Society for four years and founded the Medlock Singers. He was appointed Organist and Master of the Choristers at Bury Parish Church in 2004, and in September this year Nick begins his music teaching career at Bury Grammar School for Girls.
