Nigel Groome is Organist and Director of Music at Beckenham Parish Church. He is also the Royal School of Church Music Co-ordinator for the South-East.

Nigel has visited the USA on over 30 occasions, to give recitals and to conduct Choir Festivals, and in an advisory capacity for the RSCM. He has also made similar visits to the Diocese in Europe. He has broadcast from Trinity Cathedral, Sacramento and on cable TV in Chicago. Under his direction, the Choir of Beckenham Parish Church has visited the USA, first to New York and Washington and to the Cathedrals of San Francisco, San Jose and Sacramento. They have toured Estonia twice as part of the Diocese of Rochester’s link with that country, and have also visited Latvia.

In the early part of 2001, Nigel spent a period as visiting organist of Grace Cathedral, San Francisco. Examining tours have included Malta Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic as a senior examiner for the London College of Music.

Nigel Groome has given many organ recitals in this country, including at St. Paul’s, St. Asaph, Southwark, Portsmouth, Sheffield, Westminster and Salisbury Cathedrals, Shrewsbury and Westminster Abbeys, and Christchurch Priory. He has made a recording of the Organ at Beckenham Parish Church on the CTRS label.
