James Lloyd Thomas has held several teaching positions as well as prestigious organist posts, including Oundle School (as Director of Chapel Music), Shrewsbury Abbey and S Mary’s Bourne Street. He studied the Organ with David Sanger, James Parsons and Margaret Phillips and in 1992 James was a semi finalist in the Paisley International Organ competition. His MA research and performance was concerned with the little known romantics August Ritter and Johann Töpfer.

James has a wealth of experience in teaching, having been Director of Music at Kingston Grammar, Christ College Brecon and recently at St. Leonard’s-Mayfield School. He maintains a busy schedule of recitals and accompaniment. He is also Assistant Course Director of the Oundle International Festival and Summer School. He is conductor of the Sussex Philharmonic and the Sussex University Chamber Choir as well as Organist/Choirmaster at Christ Church Eastbourne. In September James hopes to launch a career as a freelance musician and teacher.
