Mark Burgess was born in Rustington and brought up and educated in Portsmouth where he has worked all his life. He gained a place at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. and studied under Nicholas Danby, and has been awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Organists. Currently he is organist at St John the Baptist Westbourne and Head of Music at St Luke's Church of England School in Portsmouth.
