Oasis Christian Outreach Centre

Oasis is a community-based charity which assists those in need, offering practical support and advice to all within our community regardless of race, religion or sex. Oasis provides a listening ear and sympathetic pastoral care and guidance, as well as addressing practical issues such as the provision of food, clothing and furniture.

Oasis aims to assist and support those with broken lives to rebuild the fabric of those lives, helping to overcome life-threatening addiction, loneliness, bereavement, unemployment, homelessness, offending, and more. Oasis are also able to direct those suffering from acute conditions towards specialist agencies, while still maintaining the links of friendship and compassion. Oasis provides a much-needed safety net to help those who might otherwise fall out of society.

Oasis encourages, through self-enabling, a clear direction for each person or family. Through a range of activities they are able to restore their motivation to take positive steps forward by demonstrating their commitment and willingness to participate. Over the last fifteen years Oasis has witnessed many examples of people regaining quality of life and self-esteem.

Oasis welcomes help to assist with expanding their services in the community, by providing more facilities, workshops and classes; by increasing awareness of their service in the area, which will help clients to gain employment and support themselves; by expanding their services to other groups in need in the area, such as those with disabilities, lone parents, carers, minority ethnic groups, those in need of basic skills like literacy and numeracy, the long-term unemployed, the elderly and the infirm.
