Hiring the Church Halls
The Parochial Church Council makes its church halls available to individuals and organisations for meetings and events. There are conditions attached. This page details the hire charges you can expect. Note that when you calculate the hire charge, the length of your booking must be from the time you arrive to the time you leave: setting-up and clearing-up must be included. The availability listed here indicates when the halls are available for hire. Certain slots may already be taken by regular hirers, although there may be gaps in their meeting schedule which of course others can fill.
S Philip’s Hall; S Augustine’s Hall
The charges are the same for Christ Church main hall and S Philip’s Hall. S Augustine’s Hall at Christ Church is available through the week with the exception of Sunday mornings. S Philip’s Hall is available on Saturday mornings, early afternoons and evenings; and Sundays. Both halls have a maximum capacity of 100, although this limit may need to be lowered if seating or tables are laid out in the hall. The photo shows Christ Church Hall set up for a banquet for 80, which is a comfortable number. Both halls are accessible (Christ Church has an external threshold for which wheelchair users may require assistance) and there is a toilet suitable for wheelchair users.| Per hour: | £15 | including use of the kitchen |
Christ Church upper halls
S Cuthman’s Hall and S Dunstan’s Hall are available throughout the week with the exception of Sunday mornings. Each upper hall has a maximum capacity of 50, although again this limit will need to be lowered if everyone is seated. These halls are not suitable for use by persons with difficulties in mobility.| Per hour: | £ 10 |
S Cuthman’s Hall (left-hand staircase) has a sink available.
Christ Church: Brodie Hall
The Brodie Hall at Christ Church is available on weekday afternoons and evenings (except Thursday evening) and on Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons. This hall has a maximum capacity of 50, although again this limit will need to be lowered if everyone is seated. Because of its age and listed building status this hall may not be suitable for use by wheelchair users, although there are no steps and people with limited mobility should find little difficulty. There are currently no toilet facilities for wheelchair users in this hall, although improvements are planned.| Per hour: | £10 | including use of the kitchen |
Fenning Room
The Fenning Room, upstairs at Christ Church, is available for small meetings and can also be hired in conjunction with either S Cuthman’s Hall or S Dunstan’s Hall.| Per hour: | £5 | |||
| With another hall: | £5 | flat rate fee |
Regular bookings
We are very happy to consider regular bookings in all the halls for times when they are available, and are able to give discounts on these rates. Please ask for details: see below. You will still need to fill in a booking form and comply with our conditions. It may be necessary on occasion to make adjustments to regular bookings to cater for occasions when the parish needs to use the hall on a one-off basis. In these circumstances hirers are offered an alternative booking, if available, or any booking fee paid is refunded.Who to contact
