  • Removing and selling the pews in the Nave and North Aisle of the church.
  • Carpeting the entire Nave and aisles.
  • Replacing pews with cushioned chairs, some with arms.
  • Dividing the floor space between a worship area and a gathering area with coffee tables, pews and chairs.

This phase is now complete. The photos show the church before work started, with the uncomfortable pine pews, and as it is now. In addition to the chairs, the gathering area has been created at the back using some of the old pews. Coffee tables were created from the pews in the north aisle.

In addition to the major changes, the Nave Altar dais was also modified to provide a more useful shape and allow the new chairs to be arranged in a curve around the altar.

NB: There have been no major changes to lighting in the church. However there have been improvements in camera technology! The “after” pictures were taken on a sunny day.
